Natural Hope Herbals Health & Wellness Day 2025 – What was it?
Over 1500 individuals (with estimates suggesting it may have approached 2000, making precise counting challenging) convened in the secluded, picturesque hollow of the Mahantongo Valley, known as “Sneedaal” (Snowdale).
What draws attendees from distant states like Florida, Indiana, and Missouri? The answers are numerous, but a few stand out. The quest for optimal health—many are simply weary of feeling unwell! A significant motivation for Natural Hope Herbals in hosting this complimentary educational event for the past six years has been the aim to inform others about Health, Wellness, and Nutrition. It serves as a means of giving back to the community. Esteemed educators, some traveling from as far as Germany, presented on a variety of subjects including The Significance of Our Diet, How Our Bodies Function, and The Necessity of Detoxifying Our Bodies.
A key element of wellness lies in the Soil, hence this year’s theme was “Wellness from the Ground Up.” Understanding that Healthy Soil yields Healthy Plant Life, which in turn nurtures Healthy Animals and ultimately Healthy People is vital. Many attendees sought to become better stewards of the soil. An expert even demonstrated soil structure from within a soil pit located in one of the fields.
Some attendees were particularly interested in Homesteading and Food Security. Demonstrations featured topics such as Fermented Vegetables, Curing and Smoking Meats, the Benefits of Cultured Dairy Products, and even a live talk and tour of the Bee Hives.
Many attendees, particularly the younger crowd, were drawn to the unique offerings designed just for them: Barrel Train Rides, a Bounce House, a large Shelled Corn Bin, Games, Balloons, and even the opportunity to ride a real Camel.
Others attended to expand their knowledge of herbs; Master Herbalists conducted “Deep Dives” into herbal studies and were available at a booth for visitors to engage with them directly regarding their specific inquiries. Many attendees enjoyed a guided tour of the working Regenerative Organic Medicinal Herb Farm, the event's location, either by horse or tractor-drawn vehicle. Some were pleased to discover unique herb plants for sale to enhance their own herb gardens.
Others were primarily attracted by the over 60 carefully curated Vendors, offering a diverse range of products from Homemade Milling Equipment to handcrafted Wooden Toys; Local Organic Grains; Local Honey; Organic Meats; Eggs; Cheese; Fresh Produce; Clean-label Energy Drink Mixes; Lab Services; and Clean Label Personal Care Items, among others.
Finally, the event featured a delightful array of fresh Natural & Organic Foods, ranging from Healthy Breakfast Sandwiches in the morning to Organic Coffee Drinks and Smoothies available throughout the day, along with delicious Organically-raised Beef Burgers on Homemade Rolls; an Organic Haystack Meal; Organic French Fries and Potato Chips, prepared on-site, and concluded with Organic A2 Homemade Ice Cream, embodying the sentiment: “Welcome to Pennsylvania Dutch Country; if you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault.”
